From the woman who made a point to address the weight of every character in her books, especially the mean ones, like Aunt Marge, Uncle Vernon, and Dudley. I cringe at how many times the word “fat” and “diet” is used in the first few books.

Marc Maron did exactly this in the first episode of his IFC show. So the only highlight was a rip off. I like Hannibal too, but this sounds awful.

Nothing Facebook does is by accident. I and a bunch of other people reported this photo: http://femanist.net/?p=895

They just keep sending us form letters stating it doesn’t break any rules despite the nudity and the hate message.

I’m not a fan of this kind of work and I won’t defend its merits, but appropriating images and making them your own is a 20th century art tradition. Just look at Warhol or Lichtenstein. Such is life.

Every thing I said was referencing trams women. Don't be such an angry troll. You're not helping.

At some point we have to talk about transgender feminism. I am fully open to the idea that someone born in a man’s body have been a woman all this time. I think the trouble is that we’re talking about brains when my transgender folks talk about hormones. This is probably a media problem.

The “now” picture reminds me of this article about baby faced women in cartoons. It’s funny how we accept this look in drawings but in real life its freaky.

You forgot to mention how insanely misogynist the show is. I completely gave up on it after Ice King/island girl friend episode. http://femanist.net/?p=34

I really think you should read this: http://femanist.net/?p=830 . It’s mostly about different body types, but I think it applies to any kind of “out-of-the-ordinary” sense of attraction.

If these toymakers are doing scientifically proven harm to our kids' psyche then maybe it's time for a good lawsuit. http://femanist.net/?p=852

Why do white people want to say nigger so badly? What does it get you besides hurting people?

Funny how "satire" and "pointless racism" overlap so much by your definition.

It's not a sign of stupidity, but at the same time insisting that the only Asian people in the US are recent immigrants is an attempt at othering them that has gone on too fucking long. Asians have been coming to the states for 200 years. In Hollywood not a one was born on our soil in all that time. How many Irish,

Now you're just being an idiot.

But she's not white.

I take it back. You are correct.

I never said anything about Titus, who is pretty much great. But there are Asian and Hispanic people in this country who are native to this country. It would be nice for their characters to not be shackled to 1950's interpretations of their culture. And a Native American woman played by a white woman? That's just

Alec Baldwin was an Archie Bunker figure who we were supposed to be upset at for being a racist. A racist character is different from characters that are themselves racist stereotypes.

It's a shame the show is so insanely racist we couldn't finish it. Some outlets have picked up on this, while others have chosen to strangely ignore it. We've got two hispanic women in the show and they're both maids. There's no joke. No commentary. They're just maids. You've got an Asian guy named "Dong" with broken

In the end, though, isn't this just another powerful woman character who's been given depth through a sudden and pointless revelation of rape? Same thing happened in "Top of the Lake". Women being motivated by rape is like men being motivated by dead women. It's cheap at this point. Can't she just be a tough bitch?
