I went to an Andrew Bird show over the summer where he played a song that he said was written for an upcoming Zach Galifinakis show, which I'm going to assume is this one. I'll be curious to see if it made it in. I saw Bird several years ago and he played a song he wrote for The Muppet Movie that ended up getting cut.

Interestingly enough, the movie has two directors. One is Hideaki Anno of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame (because the guy is never going to make the last Rebuild movie at this rate) and the other is Shinji Higuchi who just did the live action Attack on Titan movies. '90's anime meets '10's anime.

That scene is totally rad. It elevates the film a whole lot for me. I like GitS, but my favorite Oshii thing is Patlabor 2. There's another boat scene in that movie that just blew me away when I saw the film. It pretty much spells out the film's themes through dialogue, but it's pretty dreamlike too.

Well it's a right swipe to move to the next page instead of a left swipe. But with the way we all mindlessly swipe on our phones and tablets these days you might find that an easier adjustment to make than physically flipping through a book. I think I tried reading a Taiyo Matsumoto manga on my tablet in guided view and gave up pretty quickly. Part of the beauty of manga is being able to see how artists' panels do things like change size or interact with the margins of the page. It gets a little lost in guided view.

Now's a good time to check it out! They acquired 5 new series within the past few weeks and have been expanding their catalogue quite a bit. Not everything is good, but they're starting to get to the point where enough of it is.

If the manga was a separate subscription from the anime it wouldn't have been worth the price for the longest time, but they've expanded the catalogue enough that I'm following like 10 ongoing series and there are a couple worthwhile finished ones as well. It's nice to have a legitimate source for some series that I

I've been reading a lot of manga through Crunchyroll's app lately and it is really great to be able to zoom in and get background details or appreciate intricacies in the art even if I'm not using a guided view feature. I was reading a series about cooking and the amount of tiny speech bubbles with weird aside
