If vgchartz.com is to be believed (which for all I know it may not be, but it’s hard to find any better numbers), “international fucking cash cow” is quite the overstatement when compared to Nintendo’s other franchises. The highest selling Metroid game was Metroid Prime at 2.82 million units, which would be good

When you express a shit opinion, expect to get shit for it. Opinions are not protected and they never should be. The “it’s my opinion” defense is weak and never taken seriously anyway, try to give an argument with actual substance next time. Hope this helps.

This series confounds me. Given that Super Mario RPG was the title that introduced Mario to the genre, it seems to have meandered so far from what made that a legendary title. While I appreciate the desire for fresh ideas I haven’t really felt compelled by the wonder, intrigue, and fun that was present in SMRPG and

It’s pretty common to sit on complete entertainment products for months and months to release them during a season people buy a lot. Almost all big games have been ready for several months when they are finally released, as are movies. Even record labels do the same, which has always baffled me.

What it really came down to honestly is Metroid is an international success. Outside of Japan people know who Samus is and love her. Yet inside Japan it is another story. The series just hasn’t done well and each time they introduce elements to try and capture them. Terrible rocket shoes, Other M style story telling

Right. None of those items are really all that bad on their own if there were a main series of Metroid games going on at the same time.

Federation Force had the bad luck to press all the wrong buttons (Non-single-player exploration style game vs online multiplayer style game; without Samus; Chibi-style graphics when the 3DS can do better) in the worst possible time (Zelda and Pokemon had their anniversaries celebrated, but Metroid not).

Have you played Super Paper Mario on Wii? That game is brilliant!

The 3ds is great, but the NEW 3ds? No. Wii U was a non starter. I’m not saying it’s a trend, we’ll have to wait for NX to see. Hopefully not, as, like I said, I think their games are fantastic.

I’d like ressources to be allocated to other game, yes. But sorry for expressing an opinion, it’s better to judge strangers on the Internet.

for their gaming machines it’s finally biting them in the ass which is a shame because their games have a much higher hit to miss ratio than any other publisher I can think of.

Nintendo just keeps on doing whatever the fuck it wants, feedback be damned. It’s frustrating sometimes, yes, so very frustrating... yet you kind of have to admire it.

SPM was my first (and only) foray into the Paper Mario series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

In many ways, I feel like this situation is way worse than the Metroid situation. Metroid Prime Federation Force honestly seems like an okay spin-off that is coming at the wrong time: if it were released in the early 2000s at the height of the Prime series, I doubt people would have a problem with it. It mostly just

But don’t you know that other people don’t matter and its all about me? I want games for me. Fuck the rest of you. Resources can then be allocated to make games I want.

I’m never gonna not be mad about Paper Mario. The original game is obe of my all time favorites and TTYD is one of those rare sequels that does almost everything better than the original.

Did you play Thousand Year Door, though? That was the peak of the series, and the one that everyone points to as “please just give us one more of these.”

So, you want them to decrease the variety of games they make simply because you don’t like the series? That’s an awfully shitty attitude.

if it’s mario party that you like then there are way better versions on gamecube and wii.

I don’t care about you ocarina of time and golden eye nostalgia. the N64 is a pretty shitty console with a shitty gamepad and shitty graphics that look like cat puke.
