From what I understand, Mariner and Boimler are played by their voice actors in the live action scenes with the Enterprise crew, so they’ll appear as themselves, rather than animated characters. So it’s not a Roger Rabbit deal.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I love Anson Mount as Pike. Indisputably a fantastic addition to NuTrek who’s enabled so many great things.

Ro has always been one of those TNG characters that a lot of fans have wanted to return, but circumstances just didn’t allow it. That Michelle Forbes came back for this one-off was great.
