At 19, I was the kind of insufferable twat you can only be when you’re a film major at a mid level Midwestern college. I thought I had very learned and deep opinions and I totally read Interview magazine and Bukowski, which meant I was super cool and artsy

Yes. My brother majored in mechanical engineering and he has a great job with decent hours and he's a nice, regular dude and so are all his friends from college.

He owns a couple comedy clubs. One is inside Universal City Walk, which is a pretty big tourist attraction, so I assume he makes a decent amount from that. Kevin Smith has spoken out about how Lovitz owes him thousands from performing there, and had pretty shady business practices.

My nephew refuses to acknowledge that I am either a girl or an adult. He believes I am just a “kid.” When anyone tells him I’m his mom’s older sister, he just snorts and shakes his head at their stupidity.

I love How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I own Love Actually, What Happens in Vegas and Leap Year & Practical Magic

No mention of Reckless or Desperately Seeking Susan?!?

I think lots of people (maybe most?) don’t really understand consent, and think assault can only occur by a stranger using physical force. When I had mandatory sexual harassment training, we had to vote on whether certain situations were harassment.

The NCAA have threatened to pull their tournament out of MO if their bullshit religious freedom bill passes. KC hosts a ton of conventions, I don't know if any of those companies have spoken out.

I read it as “bidness”

When a friend of mine divorced her emotionally abusive husband, so.many.people. told me she was selfish & a shitty mom for leaving a man who was rich and owned a house in Brentwood! You know, because divorce is terrible but leaving a rich man is especially terrible.

I’m the weirdo who cleans my dishwasher. I throw a cup of borax in the bottom and pour baking soda and vinegar down the drain thing and put it through a wash cycle. It’s supposed to clean out the drains of old food scraps, grease and soap scum and keep, bacteria from growing

If I actually wanted a child, I think I would, I would close my eyes and imagine him in his Mad Max days. I would be scared he’d fuck up the kid. I guess you could use part of the $100K for excellent therapy for the Gibson Jr

As a child of the 70's, it’s super disconcerting for me to see how kids are expected to behave now. At my niece’s 7th birthday party, I started a game of freeze tag because the kids were standing quietly beside their parents while the parents chatted or sitting silently while getting their faces painted.

I suspect this is part of some kind of narrative for Kylie. After she dates Tyga for a while, he will mistreat & humiliate her her in some terribly public way, and she will start some kind of bullshit foundation or “write” a book about self esteem and reinvent herself. The teen lipstick maven nonsense she's peddling

This is something that genuinely puzzles me. Do LA clubs just pay off the BAFTE to allow underage celebrities? Or do they get caught and just pay fines every weekend?

I agree on the Ina Gartner cookbooks and want to add in Martha Stewart. She has one from 20 years ago called Healthy Basics, or something like that. It was very simple, beginners recipes. Also, Joy of Cooking is so incredibly useful. It has detailed directions on every possible technique, pretty much every kind of

Grad school is fucking miserable. When I first started, someone warned me it would be horrible and to try and make as many friends as possible among my cohort. It just sucks for everyone, but you will get through.

I have a couple friends like this. Lately they’ve both been really pissy with me, like my very existence annoys them. I recently came to the realization that both of them are still emotionally 30 years old (both are mid-late 40s) & they will never, or can’t grow up.

I agree. Source: I complained to management that a coworker was leaving his kid in the break room for hours at a time and then berating us for cursing or watching South Park or not paying enough attention to his kid. Everyone who ratted him out acted completely outraged when he was disciplined.

Really? I've worked in banking, retail, plastics, large machine import and the film industry and never once attended a business party with dancers or actors. And 10 of those years, I lived in L.A.
