Man, you’re thick in the head. There’s nothing WRONG with the shifter, it just doesn’t give enough tactile feedback for some people who negligently get out of the car without looking down at the dash, looking at the shifter, or noticing that the car moves slightly when they release the brake to exit the car.

As a 2014 diesel GC owner, I can’t see how this is such a huge problem. I’m not trying to be insensitive, deaths and injuries are always tragedies and something needs to be done — but it is my opinion that if you get out of a car without verifying that it is indeed in “Park” then it is on the driver. I still don’t get any of the hype over the 500 Abarth’s little poot. It sounds exactly like my old 2005 Passat TDI after I chopped the muffler off. Seriously. Search “tdi mufflerectomy” on youtube. The Abarth 500 sounds like a small turboed tractor.
