I adore John Oliver; I saw him host a comedy show in the city (I think it was a taping for a Comedy Central Presents...), and he was fantastic. His run as host of TDS last summer was amazing. I'm glad he got his own show & Comedy Central must be kicking itself that they let him go now that Colbert is leaving.

Same here.

lol it's ok :)

I feel your pain. My friends & I (all in late 20s to early 30s) were just talking about how when we think 10 years ago, we still think it's the 90s....

Now playing

I direct you to Garfunkel & Oates, who are hilarious ladies who devoted a whole song to the topic of hand jobs....

I'm a diehard Rangers fan, but Kings-Sharks is probably the match up I'm most looking forward to in this round. I love both goalies; Quick is great, and I think Niemi is underrated by a lot of casual hockey fans. Hopefully it'll be an exciting series!

True. I do remember reading AFFC, her actions as Queen Regent, her confidence, that she's so smug and smart, and thinking, No, no, no. no; you're doing everything all wrong and everyone knows it.

I agree re: Book Sansa. She's completely vapid in Book 1; 2 she's absolutely scared, and not much going on. But Books 3 & 4, she shines (especially in the latter half of 3). Sophie Turner is fantastic; she doesn't have to say anything, but there's still so much there in her facial expressions. Poor Sansa...

I don't know. She's completely loathsome, yes, but while I liked we finally got her POV in A Feast for Crows, that book just...ugh. I'm going to have to go back and reread, but Book Cersei has always pissed me off.

Lena Headey is fantastic. Her Cersei > Book Cersei. With Book Cersei, she just looks petty and her actions are soooo dumb (especially in A Feast for Crows); Lena Headey gives the character a depth and understanding I never had in the books.

My fiance and I had a similar discussion. In the end, you're still watching someone violently choke to death and it's a bit gut wrenching and unnerving to watch. I think the show succeeded more than the book IMHO, but then again you don't really get a lot of Joffrey in the book in the same way you do in the show.

I'm very jealous!! Tom Petty is definitely on my list of must-see once he's back in the area.

I know! He did a fantastic job last summer hosting The Daily Show, I thought for sure Comedy Central was going to create a time slot or something for him...

I thought the same thing re: John Oliver. I adore John Oliver & thought he'd be great for his on CC show.

I've already seen Fleetwood Mac in concert (and would again - one of the best shows I've been to), but this just fuels my desire to see Tom Petty...he's one of my favs.

I saw Fleetwood Mac (albeit sans Christine McVie) last April — it was fantastic!! Hands down one of the best shows I've ever been to.

I read something similar, and I was like, well, then the commentator skipped over the curse of Ham?

I work right around this area...why do I never get to see stuff like this and/or have it to me?! *le sigh*

And he still goes for the most overly dramatic fall ever award...

UGH. I KNOW. I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW.
