Agree. Lamborghinis were either ugly or boring in the era between the Countach to the Aventador. The Aventador is striking in person and a return to the ‘fighter jet’ look. Classically beautiful? No. But it’s exciting and fun looking and that’s what a Lamborghini should be IMHO.
Looks like a car on the sign of an auto detail shop in the sketchiest part of town.
Engine by Lucas. Run.
Nothing in the auto world pisses me off more than when companies are A) are raking it in, and seemingly spending none of it to improve their product or B) trading on false arrogant reputation (German ‘quality’). In this case, it’s a bit of both.
In the era of half a dozen auto plants moving just south of the border, does seem like the correct strategy? So, they’re nuking any job security they had i.e. their comparable value to US peers. They make far less than the other guys who are grossly overpaid and will see their jobs going overseas, so their answer is…
100%. The lack of a 1963 Soviet built limousine with kangaroo leather interior and a 7 1/2 cylinder engine in ground mole brown is really shocking.
I have never seen an XJ13. Thank you - this is one of the most beautiful cars I’ve seen. In an era that we constantly (and correctly) deride as overflowing with hideous gray bloat and masses of CUV/SUVs, I have no idea how you could be against seeing more cars like this (or anything remotely like it) on the road.
Fair point. The shale situation likely puts a structural lid on US fuel prices. Not sure of the ultimate IMO 2020 impact here though.
This feels so much like 2008 just before the crash. Gas was cheap, SUVs got comically bigger and bigger and more popular, (Expeditions, Hummers everywhere), the stock market was at an all time high after a multi-year historic run, auto makers totally forgot about small cars.
Going this year for the first time. We usually just go on Labor Day weekend for the Vintage weekend which is always great, but lacking in real ‘racing’. Looking forward to the IMSA race.
Came here to see commenter apologists for a totalitarian regime. Left satisfied.
Why would he have gone for a dip in 40s degree water with his clothes/wallet on?
‘Strangely Dark and Feels Like a Trailer For a Horror Movie’...
Don’t try to turn this into that. She wasn’t at D-Day nor combat.
Yup. A Sherman tank looks like a child’s toy compared to a Panzer, but when you can crank them out like sausages, it really doesn’t matter.
Yes. If they had Powerpoint, there would have been one slide that said: ‘Get shit done’ (much like a modern day sole proprietor’s small shop). Everyone was on the same page and delicate flowers were rare. This predates labels on of bottles of soda warning you of their high pressure contents.
The difference is, we make those types of shows ourselves.
Looks like someone is going to need a spin doctor.
This car was no good with 32,000 miles on the clock. Good family friends owned one new back in the day. It may have been cooler than our Chevy Celebrity, but this thing was in the shop every other week.
