Remember ‘The Grand Tour’? The show that this site inexplicably has pretended hasn’t existed for the last two years?
Mom is tired of sister Turbo being so exhausted and Eaton being so cranky.

I would love to believe you, but I don’t. 98% of Americans don’t care about driving engagement and/or manuals. Period. Cupholders and gadgets - that’s where it’s at.
I’m going to keep referencing this most excellent article till the day I die.
I now officially have no sympathy for you.
“don’t live in the most hostile place in the country for car enthusiasts”
“As a side note: We need a name for used cars that look clean but are full of secret problems. For a new car, that’s a lemon. What about old stuff?”
How many of these do we think they’ll actually sell?

I don’t care what flavor of gray it is, if I see one more effing gray effing car, I’m going to cry. I live in New England, there’s enough gray here without adding to it with the one thing that we can choose to be colorful.
Good for the 86. My 2013 WRX has the interior from a Playskool kitchen set and most high end luxury option is power windows...and I couldn’t care less.
My dad raced his Super 7 in England in the 60s and has lived here in the US for the last 40 years. We never had a manual family car growing up despite my urging. My mom didn’t want it and my dad was frankly indifferent by the time he got to 50 years old. Age sucks.
I live in the US but have a lot of family in the UK. The car situation is night and day. I remember my 72 year old aunt going through the gears in her old Mini, tearing down country lanes and around round-abouts. It would be laughable to think about this happening in the US.
Agreed. In my top 3 list. Something about it that’s so special - it’s like a raw un-refined muscle car that’s a refined Italian exotic at the same time. The rear view is one of the best there is in my opinion, with no attempt to cover up the mechanicals beneath.
Those are some Groovy Buttons.
Sooo...client asks for reliable (will be in the wilderness) utilitarian vehicle and has $15k to spend and most of staff aims to one up each other on 30 year old quirky/hipster crap boxes. Seems about right.
Practicality and reliability have no place in these articles - only creative hipster points.
