With this construct, the government should never spend on any discretionary/recreational project either. Because there are always people suffering somewhere who could use the money.

‘Automatic’ high beams + xenon/LED retina searing technology = public menace. They should be fucking outlawed.

This is the most French thing I’ve read all day.

All you need to know is the title of the article. No other cliche is more true. Pride in craftsmanship is ancient history. I know - I just had a bathroom remodeled.

My friend’s parents had one of these in ‘88. The seats were super lux and it had a self leveling trunk. We were super impressed at the time.

    That’s how I feel about a 2019 Chrysler.

That’s how they drew it up.

...And despite all of these aids, they have been in chapter 11 42 times - yes, they have just lived the life and sucked the teat.

Bingo. This is the answer for when anyone complains about companies wronging the consumer. Consumers get what we want in the US.

Was going to say, you just described the 911 drivers around here.

I feel bad for them. They’ve created MUCH better and impressive cars in recent years that out-compete peers for a bargain price, yet can’t shake the Tony Gold Chain stigma. Image is such a strange thing.

The way we increasingly talk about the inevitability of electric motors replacing gas ones is what makes me sad.

Uh, the timing of this article may just be coincidence but, from yesterday...

I’m generally not a big Corvette fan, but that color with those wheels looks great.

I am CVT ignorant. Are they all like that or just the ones Subaru uses?

Not sure how much different the current Outback is than the one I rented three years ago, but that was literally (tied with the Dodge Nitro) the worst new car I had ever driven, 100% because of that God awful CVT transmission. It was so slow in acceleration to actually be dangerous.

Fair point and I flirted with the idea of buying an incredibly well maintained, low mileage Discovery for a hilariously low price from a good friend with the intention of turning it into an off-road mobile, but didn’t have the guts. I just wouldn’t want to have to rely on it. And I suspect you’d be spending more time

    Type A personality

That is why God invented used 4Runners.

Couldn’t have said it any better. Good Lord, what were they thinking?
