    #COTD

Same exact (but worse) thing happened to me at Bozeman, MT airport except I missed the flight - and I was there 2 hours early, sitting having a drink with a friend while watching security and desk and plane all in front of my eyes (as you may imagine, this is a very small airport). Figuring I had plenty of time, given

I have been in a Neon and was terrified when we broke 50 mph.

It seems they need at least 300hp in the base WRX out of a new engine and 350-400hp out of the new STI to maybe take back the lead. Oh, and something that looks remotely easy on the eyes would be nice.

It’s been crickets on the Focus RS since it came out (a ton from here before hand). What are the reports on that now that it’s been out for awhile? Still far better than the current STI?

I never got why people lust after these so much. I always thought they were ugly - not that the sedan is pretty, but it’s better than this.

Well written article. I’m not sure how successful the passenger rail system ever would’ve worked here in the US. The country is too big and the culture is one built on personal freedom of movement where the car was king from the beginning.

Totally agree. When does “Salesman’s puff” and marketing nonsense we all sort of chuckle at and/or ignore just turn into straight up fraud?

I’m trying to think of all the other things I’m going to start misnaming because I wish they were true (Jalopnik commenter G - multi millionaire).

I wonder what % of the people who voted ‘yes’ have actually driven one of these.

My brother’s had a manual. It was like moving a stick 10" through a bucket of gravel. This car was a piece of shit.

Honest - Yes. Styling that holds up - Yes. Refreshingly not trying to be badass - Yes. More powerful than competitors - Yes.

    Fair point

I’m starting to wonder when anything will go in the right direction for us.

10 stars for this. Profit wise, this probably made sense for Toyota. Otherwise, it sucks - you’ve farmed out your halo car to someone else. Someone else with crappy quality and no manual vs what you would have delivered. Then again, profits.

Europe likes sports cars. America doesn’t.

What is the fear on the upcoming 4Runner, I’m in the dark? Don’t you dare say no body on frame.

As someone who is going to scream if they see one more gray car...this car looks best in that gray. I think maybe because it tamps down the 346 lines and design cues.

So British Racing Green with British tan bridle leather is the truest Toyota color scheme. Hmm.

Your trepidation at spending an incremental $20, $50, $100 etc on an important part in these projects either points to irrational levels of frugality, or that they simply do not pay you what you’re worth at Jalopnik. Either way, I’d fix that situation if I were you.
