depends on how old your electrical service is.  100-200A? you’re likely ok.  but if you’ve got the ooold 40A 0r 60A fuse panels, absolutely need the upgrade, but then you’d likely need to upgrade if you’re considering ever selling anyways.

my brother had one in high school. his door handle snapped off as well. went to 3 pick-n-pull lots, found one out of about 90 total pontiac/olds cars with those door handles, every other one of them either snapped or pulled already...
