i liked the concept. but jam-the-corporate-grill-on-everything is definitely hurting them here.
this was ford’s exact response for why they discontinued the ranger in 2011. a real f150 got similar mileage, for only a slight bump in price.

if you track the concept to production of the santa cruz, it went from an extended cab to a solid 4-door variation. because the take rate of 2 seat trucks are abysmal, but the take rate of 4-seat trucks is spectacular.
