Interesting. My DD (2010 Mazda 5) has a timing chain. 229,xxx miles and counting and no issues. I’m gonna drive it till it something blows up. Time for new brakes and upgraded brake lines for that. I love that damn car.

Time for timing belt change!! Had to put in a new fuel pump a couple weeks ago and now the alternator is squeaking.. While I do wrench on my vehicles, timing belt and alternator on this car is not one that I will attempt! Dropping it off at a shop in a few days.

Glad y’all are back. I’m here enjoying e30 ownership, with all the rights, honors, privilege and pain bestowed upon such ownership, as well as planning to how extend the life of my daily driver.

Yup! Bought mine used with 65,xxx, and made it to 310,xxx. The biggest issue I had was the transmission and the weak 2nd gear syncros.. decided to sell after the 2nd one blew... sigh

I miss my 4th Gen...sigh
