“You bes’ be glad.....”, as in “You bes’ be glad I came to work at all.”, “You bes’ be glad you didn’t try that mess with me.” I’ve never heard anyone other than Black people say, “bes’ be glad.”

When will people learn that just because a White man or woman is romantically involved with and has a child with a Black person, that doesn’t mean that they’re not just as racist as the next White person. Strom Thurmond had a Black daughter that he provided for. Strom Thurmond!
