The specific features of each version of DirectX doesn't limit games to what's possible. Basically, if you want to try something new that's supposed to be for DirectX 11 on consoles you can try your best to emulate something close enough. My point is that the number of versions or the specific features they bring with

I'm done here, apparently I'm not getting my message through clearly. People still think I consider DirectX and PhysX as part of the same thing.

Oh lawdy...I know the differences between DirectX and PhysX, alright. The X didn't confuse me. The second part of my comment is meant to be directed at PhysX, not DirectX. DirectX was meant to be an example of things not mentioned nowadays, because it really doesn't matter what DirectX features consoles support this

Kind of gave up on following the 360 after selling mine and I wasn't saying all developers could do this, just the wealthy ones with a lot of time and money on their side. Unless you think that I think Naughty Dog, DICE and 343 are all amateur studios. Read my posts again.

I do? Where did I imply that?

I said that games have used these things before, but my point is that they really aren't used as much with current games. Maybe I should have specified what games I'm talking about, games like Halo 4, Uncharted, and maybe even Battlefield. They don't use PhysX, but does Halo 4 use DirectX? Do you know this for a fact?

There were also games that supported PhysX, which is software. I don't think you see my point.

Which will be pointless a couple years into it's life. Who here has heard of DirectX being mention around consoles nowadays? PhysX? Anyone?

Both are caused by a sudden wave of trafficking, some people were locked out and some people merely experienced a very sluggish download speed.

You can never prepare enough for these situations, Steam was floored a couple(?) Christmas' ago.

.....what?

You know, I generally dislike Jim. I know that he plays a character, as does Stephen Colbert, but it's not hard to find out what he actually thinks.

That....sounds like the case for just about every Japanese title, honestly. Even the ones brought over by niche publishers like Atlus or Xseed aren't guaranteed hits.

Last I heard, they didn't work so well. You needed to emulate Blizz servers and even then it was buggy.

Bluraider94 quoted the post on the last page if you haven't read it before. Essentially, DICE has done a lot of teasing on twitter as well.

There was a joke thread on 4Chan with people requesting "more dinos" in Call of Duty.

1943 and Bad Company 2: Vietnam have shown that DICE are capable of making game-changing expansions and smaller, more limited but ultimately great "filler" games.
