aviary seems to work good in most places, and since it's web based it has those advantages as well. :)

@EBell: My vote is also for hostgator. Tip though, never EVER get your domains through your hosting company! Always go with a separate company, for too many reasons to list. I run some small sites through hostgator, and some medium-sized ones (60,000+/mo hits) and have never had a single issue.
Crimson Editor (Emerald Editor now) - Hands down the least intrusive text editor for coding I've ever used. I love you Emerald Editor.
To be honest I really have no idea, nor do I really care... I restart my computer once every 2 or 3 months anyway, and that's usually when I need to go downstairs. I can't think of a situation (other than an "Office Space" type scenario) where the boot up time really matters. Okay, I'm into my desktop and runnin'…
Urgency can be a real pain sometimes too though. I run all of the web-based "stuff" for this travel agency. They're always cooking up new ideas and I get the "stop all things and work on this immediately" - effectively destroying my mental house of cards when planning out the day/week/month. It also sucks when they…
To answer your question it works just spiffy under vista. Though for DVD I generally go with Xvid, and depending on how picky you are, for most movies where details aren't more important just use the %quality option (as opposed to the size option) - it'll drop it down to single pass and you'll have your vid in under…
VOTE: Crimson Editor
Finally someone brings up Crimson Editor! Absolutely the best! Do yourself a favor and check it out. Free and fully customizable!
Whenever you have Sharpee or other permanent marker on a slick surface, just go over it with a dry-erase marker and then wipe away. Used to do it for fun on my school desk waaaay back in highschool days. *sigh*
Is it me or would it be easier to just do a "select color range" and apply a mask? Either way, kudos for havin' the tutorial with the gimp!
Scooter is hands down one of the best. Songs like Weekend and Aiiii shot the DJ do nothing but build energy. That and some choice songs from E Nomine splashed with the always popular AC / DC. :)
@fsmontenegro: I would say one of your best bets is vector magic. Just scan in your diagrams in a raster-ized format, and from there you can take the eps and export it to a number of different formats, including dwg and whatnot. Best of luck!
@JeffDrake: And if I could read I would instead point you to this link:
@JEFFDRAKE: You go to the personalize menu (can be found by right clicking on the desktop) then go to Screen Saver, then Power Settings. In the menu on the left side it will say "Change what the power button does" - click that and you should be good to go in terms of setting up that pesky power button ;)
I've been running Vista a bit over a year now, and once UAC and Indexing was disabled, I've had virtually no issues with it as an operating system. Matter of fact, when going to back to XP, I feel the loss of so many things I constantly use in Vista. I for one will wait until the final version of SP1, but I'm…
I love making them out of dollar bills. They just seem so much cooler when you use money, and since you obviously don't cut them, it qualifies for origami! :P
Though this may not improve your "correct-ness" when it comes to typing, this will help with your speed, and it's hella-fun!

Was my post gobbled?
I've been running Vista RC1 for quite a while now, and am very happy with what it offers. There were some apps I couldn't run, but that's nothing VMware couldn't fix! And @Aaron, if you would still like to rip your DVDs (as I do) - then a simple version of XP in VMWare will wipe that away. One of my favorite…
