You are oh-so-right — Volvo has certainly got a great looking, unobtrusive, scaleable design. If they start putting giant grilles on their vehicles, it will be a sure sign of the apocalypse.
“Volvo Keeps Doing This”
From the photo, I thought you meant they make every car in their lineup look exactly the same :P
(Not a bad thing, actually... when you develop a brand identity that handsome, why not exploit it for all it’s worth?)
Its cars are all fine, competent, and good-looking
Being over Six foot myself, I can tell you it’s not your vertical dimension that is the problem...
And yet you seemed to fit very comfortably in a 2-D pane of glass with a couple other people, Zod. Get over it.
Defensive replies are unprofessional.
yes, i love my mini, and i feel attacked every time they start hating on mini
Yeah, don’t like the lastest versions as much as the original BMW Minis, but Jesus, we NEED Minis and Fiats to wash our eyes of the sea of bland blobby SUVs
Counterpoint: I bought a Mini on a whim three years ago, and love the damn thing so much that I bought one for my daughter. The used JCW that my dealer has is looking mighty tempting.
Where are you getting your numbers? MINIs weigh less than Golfs by like 300 pounds.
Mini is literally the one brand that offers a manual variant of everything they sell. They’re not perfect cars, but that’s part of the charm. I have 16 year old r53 Cooper s. It has all of the hallmarks of 90’s Rover half assing things, yet I love it. On paper, it’s crap. In reality, it’s an absolute joy.
I feel the same way. Jalopnik lost its heart when Patrick George finally stepped aside.
There was a way to share this news without being an asshole about it.
WTF is your problem with MINI? They make a fun small hatch that you can order larger variants of. Are some of them quite large? Yes but not everyone can justify a small hatchback.
Its sad but it seems the good writers have now all gone and left us with a bunch of Brooklyn-based millennials who know jack about cars and don’t even really seem to like them most of the time. It used to be a really great site.
I was surprised to learn that 346,639 Minis were sold (to whom?) last year
Except MINIs are good. In a sea of near-identical jellybeans... they’re a refreshing injection of personality and fun.
