Yes, and all the italics. Just let me read the story in my own voice! Don’t force your geekly over-emphasis on me!

Ha! Just re-read this recently. Still enjoyed it, though. Maybe because I had just returned to university as a mature student for a postgrad degree. The characters’ pretentiousness made me laugh, as it reminded me of all the undergrads wandering about campus trying to be profound while figuring out how to be adults.

FWIW, I knew folks who worked on the film. Rumour has it that the studio pretty much took over the production from the director and started running it by committee. Although his name was still on the print, by the time it came out it was no longer his film. Sometimes studios save films, but sometimes their meddling

Loved all the Piers Anthony books. Started with Xanth, moved on to the Juxtaposition series, bunch of stand alone novels, and compilations. Started to realise what a sick old sexist he was. Bummer. Because I love love loved Xanth.

As a sort-of middle grounder (mostly divorced), I moved to a different continent. I still agonise over the idea that I am permanently broken because of my upbringing. I understand girls often carry this idea of permanent personality traits and abilities more than boys, so I’m trying to work around it from that

OpenStreetMap is REALLY simple to learn and use. Had to use it for a class project for my MA earlier this year. Followed this tutorial on YouTube:

Typo alert: "Disney can't be too fond of that, and it makes spend that they'd..." Makes "sense", I presume? :)

Uncanny dark alley.

Episode One didn't work because of poor storytelling. The effects were a combination of practical and CG and were, for the most part, gorgeous. In fact, I bet you'd be surprised at just how many practical effects were used. Miniatures of Theed Royal Palace that looked like real marble even when viewed from mere inches

Agreed. As a former ILM-er, I often end up having discussions with non-FX people who have somehow developed an opinion on the subject. Unless there's still an old optical printer in use somewhere, even practical effects end up going through digital processes - aka, CG. That is, in fact, exactly what I used to do.

Milan is the north. They know nothing of pizza. Even Rome can't do pizza right. They don't even put salt in their bread, ffs.

...aaaand it's now set to 'private'.

If the other Inhumans at the end were transformed by their respective obelisks, why do they still have them but Raina and Skye's blew up?

So how does one get over the trauma of cheating, then? Spending time alone only goes so far. It's not as if you emerge from your cone of silence and - tada! - you trust humanity again. If you wait until you're feeling 100% about anything, you'll probably do nothing.

I didn't think I could crush any harder on BioWare. They make great games, they create characters you care about, and they actually give a shit. I love this company so hard.

While I do *mostly* agree, having worked on the first one, there is a big part of me that would like to see a sequel. A GOOD sequel.

NO! YOU MUST NOT READ FROM THE BOOK!

I sometimes use a mask, but not to filter out germs. It helps my nasal passages stay hydrated. A bit of saline nasal spray helps, too, if you have it. Keeping the sinuses healthy and balances goes a long way to keeping germs from overcoming your immune system.
