Man, they better now kill Fez. I really like his character.

ITA. I think that maybe she will OD, technically “die” and then be revived. That’s how her dad saw and reacted to her but the mom and the sister didn’t. Also, after she snorted that line, she was lifted up off the bed by an unknown force. Might be her going into the light. That would at least be synergy...beginning

I wonder if this show was supposed to be a one and done, but then HBO decided to bring it back. The tone of the narration makes it seem like Rue has been dead the whole time. How would she know most of the info she gives out in the narration? And then the letter her mother read last night sounded almost like a eulogy.

Maaaaaan, if this train had been available when I was making regular treks from DC to NYC to go to Jimmy’s on Sunday afternoons....we would’ve been up there every week. The Acela is good, but I will be taking this train.

Perhaps it’s a trope to keep Candy on as a ghost, but I LOVE Angelica Ross, and really, having Candy appear to Pray in death just as she was in life...that bitchy, annoying fly in the ointment...kind of makes sense. Although she was encouraging Pray Tell to end his life, it really felt to me like a motivation for him

I have listened to the podcast though..it’s really great.

I went to Freaknik in 1990, and it was TERRIFYING for me. As soon as we could get out of there, we were gone. I don’t ever want to be in that kind of environment ever again.

ITA. I thought a lot of this episode definitely had modern touches that wouldn’t have been around in the 90's. Also, when the woman told Ricky and Damon about the Solid Gold audition, my first thought was, “Umm...get the details fools! You can’t go home and Google it!”

This movie is based on the lives of her grand and great-grandmothers, who had arranged marriages.

OMG....Traxx!!!! That’s a memory.

I will never forget that trash. That was atrocious, but unfortunately not uncommon.

This is SO on point. I often see artists (actors, singers, etc.) that might not be the most talented but they know the right role or song to choose. Rihanna is a great example in music. Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Gosling are examples of actors who’ve (not always) often picked really great roles and have had more success

I agree that Blake Lively in general can’t act, but she was fantastic in A Simple Favor. That vapid inanity that she projects is perfect for roles like that. Someone has to do it.

I didn’t even realize that not knowing how to play spades was a thing until I went to an HBCU. Now, I knew how to play bid whist, pinochle, tonk, etc. but not spades. Someone did teach me, but I don’t play regularly enough to really have the hang of it. I’m not ashamed. I’m just “that black friend”. I bring the potato

This is a great post. I think you’ve provided some nuance here that most can’t see from Ayesha. To be fair, that tweet (which made my butt itch), really should have gone unsent. But I get her sentiment...though I’m not a mother, I can understand the desire to have the attention that you may not have wanted earlier.

1. Fitting ending.
2. I laughed.
3. I cried.
4. Seeing again.
5. Just...wow.

My favorite was in NYC...I saw a guy riding a bike with his dog in a Snugli. With a matching outfit and sunglasses on. Peak wypipo right there.

See...here is what I don’t get about wypipo gentrifiers...why...Why...WHY do you move into the city and then want to turn it into a cotdam suburb??? HU is not your grassy knoll!!! I know about these people. I went to Virginia State University, and heard the racist crackers who moved in to a neighborhood next to the

At the risk of setting the BeyHive to full buzz, I’d love to hear Frankie Beverly’s vocals on this track. IMO, Bey was the least best thing about it, but the track GOES.

ITA. There was something about her...I think the way she smiled and carried herself...that was very reminiscent of adult Beth.
