I’ve had my (long & straight) hair touched and caressed without permission, and not by children. Some of these people were black. I don’t think it’s automatically racist as much as it’s just highly inappropriate for anyone to do.

I do want to say...I can’t speak for everyone but I don’t know if white people trying to touch black hair is racist. Perhaps I need someone to explain it to me, but I have very curly Puerto Rican hair. And I HATE when people try to touch my hair because they make it frizzy, but I’ve never felt like anyone has touched…
