They have successfully avoided being forced into it as of yet. Most apps now require you to upgrade to Timeline if you want to use them. Spotify was the one that got me. I cursed at my screen for a good couple minutes when I realized I had just agreed to upgrade.

Built for $550 in 2008 with a few minor upgrades since. It doesn't run Crysis or BF3 at all, but it runs all Source games at 720p and 60+ FPS, which is enough at the moment. Upgrading to an Ivy Bridge/Kepler build when both are released.

Looks like a whole lot of processing power in there. And it's not just water-cooled, it's water-powered!
