I fourth this! Ubuntu and the like are a bit laggy on my Dell Latitude D600, but CrunchBang runs smooth and quick. It's faster than Windows XP, the OS that the laptop was designed for. That's kinda pitiful.

It was for keyboards. PS/2 keyboards can register more keystrokes at once, hence why gaming keyboards offer PS/2 as a connection option.

Usually when they do subtitled videos, it's either video from the showfloor, where it would be all crowd noise over the mic, or it's in places where they can't talk. There usually isn't game audio.
