I was born in 1990 and completely missed the OG Nintendo generation (my first Nintendo console was a Wii) and I freakin’ love Shovel Knight.

Shovel Knight remains one of the best platformers of the last several years. I’m a little biased, as it combined two of my favorite games from my childhood (Mega Man and DuckTales), but goddamn if it isn’t an example of how the retro vibe can be perfectly executed in modern times.

I hate being good at games. I mean I’m not perfect at every game, nor could I beat “pro” players. But I hold up really well. Its bad enough in games like CSGO I am always getting “kicked” because people think I cheat. Now I can play a game where the game itself thinks I am cheating and bans me? (sigh)

Well, the most played console games for years were all sports sims.

Well all of those games have persisntant online modes that are virtually endless and are debatebley well done.
