A more fitting punishment is to tell them they are getting 5 years probation and then jail them for a year. That would be a great reaction vid.

James Woods doesn’t think a 24 year old dating a 17 year old is bad. He thinks a 24 year old guy dating a 17 year old guy is bad.
And I’ve always thought of it as showing the emotional toll of poverty too. People getting depressed because of their economic hopelessness, but they really care for Charlie and so they pool their money to treat him. And then Charlie winning the ticket gives them all new hope and something to be excited for.
“Given that Charlie’s family is so impoverished, I’m actually not surprised to hear this. Most of the children in the book fit a stereotype of the time, and a black Charlie would’ve fit with a lot of images of black American children.”
Small quibble — the Buckets weren’t American. Charlie bought his Wonka bar because he found 50 pence in the snow (children’s librarian here).
Where does it say this black kid he proposed was supposed to be American?
The laziest thing SHE has ever done.
She has a YouTube rap video about skiing (let that sink in a bit) where she talks about rampant drug use.
Abandon the car forever, because homeless people are really feral ghouls who once ensconced in an area can never be budged?
I have been happily married for 35 years, but a few years ago, I found out that my abusive asshole first real boyfriend got hit by a bus. Karma! I shouldn’t find it as funny as I do, but you know what? Hahahahaha!
They’re also using professionals. This is a bunch of local folks and it’s nothing to be a snob about. It’s like Li’l Sebastian on Parks and Rec, every town has one weird thing about it, and outsiders might not get it, and that’s ok.
Same. Remember the guy who dumped me at his family reunion? A few years later he came to my job (I was a waitress) to tell me he’d gotten his shit together and ask my forgiveness and generally wish me well, etc. It was all very Jesus-y, so the whole theme of his presentation was that he’d “gotten right with God” and…
That’s hilarious. Pretty awful for your friend, but hilarious all the same.
i’m sure i’ve told this story before, but james has an ongoing, sometimes physical, feud going on with a friend of mine. my friend, who looks like eddie izzard, but who is not eddie izzard, which james refuses to believe.
So...will this be corrected? “To say it was the rare true-crime drama that actually cared about the humanity of its female characters would be an understatement.”
Just to say.... I also kind of find it sad that a Jezebel writer couldn’t find anything good to say about a woman driven production about women and patriarchy. I’m not claiming it’s perfect TV and beyond reproach, but y’know... c’mon. There’s plenty of good there, like you pointed out.
It wasn’t a “true crime drama”. What are you talking about?
I promise this is the right choice. I totally disagree with this review having seen the whole season. I feel like the reviewer missed that the main theme of the season is women, even when there is the superficial appearance of “having control” of our bodies in all kinds of ways, don’t. That our bodies are still…
WTF? bees don’t have enough to deal with already what with parasites and population decline now they have to die so that goop-for-brains can feel good about her cesarean scars?
