Years ago when they were asked about putting in a plugin system, much like WoW has, they said no to implementing it. The reason behind it is much like what they said above. They don’t beleive people should be forced to use such tools to play the game effectively.

FFXIV has so many call backs and fanservice for long time FF Fans, this includes with music. But one of the nice things about it, while it is full of it, it is in a way that is not alienating to those who are not familiar with the series.

Maybe they should, I don’t know, not use modern military tech then, if this keeps happening?
