This looks like a semantics issue. Specifically, I think “maintenance costs” is probably a bad term.
How is “this car costs nothing in fuel” vs “this car costs $42K in fuel” not relevant?!?!?!?!?!
Maybe gasoline and out-of-service costs? Gasoline would be 300,000 miles / 25 miles/gallon * $2.50/gallon = $30,000 in fuel. No idea what these cars earn each day, but maybe estimate $300? They estimate 100 service days for the Lincoln, which would be $300 x 100 = $30,000.
I think the number for the Merc and the Lincoln include gas - because when calculating the costs of the Tesla, there was mention that it could take advantage of the Supercharger network for free.
Wrong end:
LOL, “bulletproof”... http://dashboard-light.com/vehicles/Ford_Crown_Victoria.html They’re pretty much garbage. You’re forgetting that you’d have to replace almost the entire suspension, the battery, and the brakes three times by 300K miles. Never mind the fact that they suck fuel like a 747.
As a llama, I would like to state that we, the llama community, do not have any association with Mr. Llamas and condemn any spitting in victims’ faces. For the record, we’re also not cool with all the Nazis that have been running around lately either.
That’s why I prefer alpacas. They’re huggable!
Tom Llamas repeatedly beats young children at board games; says it builds character.
To be fair, Llamas is Spanish for “You call.”

Good people on both sides.
I don’t know what to think. On the one hand you have the Dalai Lama. On the other a man whose own father is calling him a liar.
