I'd sorta agree with that. Honestly, they're completely different books. Milligan's JLD was a vertigo book through and through. Lemire's writing a pretty straight forward Superhero + Magic story that DC/Marvel have always had.

For 12 issues its been drilled in our head that The Rot is getting too greedy and if Buddy can't protect Maxine and Alec

This. Seinfeld is funny as hell, but after a number or repeats, the humor goes out. Its too reliant on the shock value of just how 'evil' these people can get.
