There is no technology that will make a car on par safety-wise with large trucks, trains, ships, etc. So by that reasoning we should eliminate them. Or take it to the ultimate and determine what mode of travel is the safest worldwide and only allow that.

If I was the shop owner I would very casually count out the coins, taking my time and intentionally under count them so when the customer argued, tell him “ok, you count it out”.

If he could lower the water wheel 2 feet and bring the flow in at a higher level he would get more output from the system. Basically it would increase the “torque” of the water wheel by allowing it to fill each section more.
There has to be at least 5 volts to energize the rotor in an alternator. So an alternator has the ability to generate electricity when the voltage drops below the level of sustaining ignition.
