It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here (my life got much busier when I returned from France), but I still love this community and would love to meet more of you in person. If anybody will be at BMW’s free autocross on October 9th at 8:30 AM, let me know and I’ll say hello. Also, how has everybody been? What’s…
Could possibly be the most badass publicity the Hyundai Santa Fe has ever seen.
Spotted in metro Detroit
This little note was pasted to the inside of the door in the 1965 Coke machine my dad got from his old company. Thought someone else might like to read it. I can post pics of the machine itself later if anybody is into old stuff.
Saw it on my way back to Michigan from Kentucky. Badges say it’s a Gotfredson.
I just swung by your local car show on my motorcycle. I looked for your ‘Vette but didn't see it. If you're interested in meeting up, make a post next time you're headed out that way and I might be able to meet you.
I haven’t been around much lately, as my life has gotten much busier since I returned from France. I miss all the day to day discussions, although I do check in from time to time. Anyways, I never made a post when I bought my bike a few weeks ago, so here it is.
Just got back from a two and half hour lunch break, in which I drove my company’s engineering director to go pick up his new G8 GXP. Then after work I’m taking my dad’s Miata on a road trip up north with my girlfriend. Happy Friday Oppo
In downtown Detroit for the fireworks, and I saw something quite unexpected in these parts: an unmarked Hyundai police car (hard to tell but it had the flashing lights on). Amusingly, someone behind me who noticed me taking a picture said “look at that blacked out Lincoln police car”.
Now with passive cylinder deactivation technology. You know, for the MPGs.
And I text my girlfriend telling her I’m imagining how fun it would be to go on a road trip with her. She replied with this picture:
Holy fuck, insane mode was incredible. Of course I also took an ironic gas station selfie.
Because my parents just bought this (and yes, it’s a manual).
The seller is holding a check while my mom and dad go check out a Miata, but unless they’re really taken with that he’ll be taking this home next week. Between this and my motorcycle, this summer is shaping up to be very exciting.
And boy did she bring a nice car from work! Shaker hood, a Hemi, that gorgeous paint job, and a six speed to boot. Gotta love summer time near Detroit. Also no idea why that last picture turned out like crap.
Pictured is the extent of my experience on two wheels: hand built in some guy’s shed, no suspension, and arguably functional brakes. All for $150 in the sketchy part of East Lansing. I’m ready for a real bike now, and over the next few months I’m going to document my evolution into a competent beginner motorcyclist.
The building next to my office does emissions testing and some other stuff for preproduction cars. Saw this pulling out and snagged some spy shots. Anybody know what this thing is?
Howdy Oppo, long time no see. It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me and I haven’t checked Oppo at all. Did I miss anything good? I’m finally back from France after 9 months, I turned 21, hit a trifecta at Churchill Downs, and got this awesome sketch of my first car (by this guy) from my girlfriend for my birthday:
