My desktop is like a workbench: A couple bins with stuff in them, some critical tools, whatever I'm working on at the moment, and the need to clean up periodically.

The 9 year old computer in question isn't old, it's ancient. Super ancient. Like holy cow ancient. On that timescale a console gamer would have probably already buy a new console AND a new PC. Soooooooo.... yeah.

I do the same thing with my computer. There's always and "organize" folder on my desktop that odds and ends gets dumped into. Keeps desktop clutter down, and if I can't find something it's more likely there than anywhere else.
