@clevernamehere: New Zealand has a significant Pasifika population, and as such, 'coconut' is a fairly commonplace slur down here.

@spikenard: Erm, this is the first articulate and eloquently argued response to a stupid and inane comment that I've seen in a long time. You're gonna get sooo hearted, it's not even funny!
@kwoods001: Dude, are you a troll? Cos your commenting history seems to suggest it.
Bless their hearts.
@dj alicat: You do realise how ridiculously élitist and narrow-sighted you're coming across as, right? I didn't realise there was an official indie kids collective, let alone that it had a spokesperson.
Oh, I believe Vice magazine addressed the issue of nude fishnet tights some time ago.
Oh just do it, already! I agonised for years before deciding one day to just take the jump and shave all of my long, wavy blonde hair of. I don't regret doing it, either- sure some days I miss my tresses, but the only thing that held me back for so long was vanity and self-conscious; my head was too big, my forehead…
Whoa, kudos to the Hathaway family for making a decision like that.
@IBleedGlitter: The High Priestess of Tinsel: "Dear parents: please send me money" grey isn't really becoming on me, either.
@cool_as_KimDeal: 'Princess' Pink
Sweet- I'm in the market for something to accessorise my short, splitting, and occasionally dirty emails with!
I've noticed recently that a majority of my clothing is either made by friends (and jerseys by Grandma), from local boutiques (in fact, most of it is from this one), op shops, or 'borrowed' from my mum and dad. I did grow up in a rather environmentally aware household though, so I think my habits are largely ingrained…
@dj alicat: Really? You're soo indie that you're above all of this? Cos its a subculture entirely devoid of douche-hattery? Try again.
@stoopidgirl: I've been using it as a gender neutral alternative since I was a child (I'm 22), largely because I've always hated how 's/he' interrupts the flow of a sentence. I don't know how grammatically acceptable it is, though- in instances requiring formal writing I tend to avoid using 's/he' sentences anyway…
@hannahanloveyoulongtime: It's been a while since I bought anything but Bust or Under The Radar (imported magazines are expensive, yo!), but I prefer TV to Nylon, and would actually spend money on it.
Is this all from one issue? Ka pai, Teen Vogue! I kind of want to go out and buy an issue, now- everything looks so fun and exciting in it!
@stoopidgirl: Ignoring grammatical conventions for a moment, I thought 'they' was an acceptable gender neutral pronoun.
@foodandshoes: Well I guess 'Jewish' and 'Italian' are different ethnicities, also?
@verbminx: Well maybe we could focus on strong male figures that are pro-women? They don't necessarily have to be self-proclaimed feminists.
