People also seem to forget that nearly every game these days, even an offline game, will talk to a server. If you pirate a game, you’re using someone’s server without paying for it. That’s measurable damages.

But that’s one million people hitting his servers that didn’t pay for that server time. That’s measurable damages.

The worst thing about the people pirating indie games is that they’re using up valuable and expensive server time, which eats into the developer’s profit - big time.
