While you can technically build a PC for approximately the same cost as a console, it’ll be a major hassle and the games will probably run worse than they do on the console.

I just built a PC gaming rig for the living room. It was significantly more expensive and it’s still a major pain in the ass to use compared to a console. Whether it’s worth it or not for the average person is very debatable.
