JJ Abrams knew what he was doing. Given the prequels, he knew that if he played it safe and cloned the original movie it would be extremely well received, even if it was mediocre and unoriginal.
Honestly, that’s how I feel about Star Wars in general. I mean, it’s good, but it’s not nearly good enough to justify the hype. They’re “eh, it was alright” movies driven by a marketing and nostalgia behemoth.
I actually replayed Mystic Quest recently. It wasn’t as bad as I remember.
