Don't get me wrong, I love diesels, and I love TDIs. But most people aren't gonna see them as a powerplant for a luxury supercar.

Aluminum brakes! Yeeeeee! Yup I know the Fiat it was based on was pretty darn good, but once you get Lada-fied....

I meant a really bad rendition of a Fiat.

Underpowered? They may be rated lower but their acceleration is just as sprightly.

The original Volvo S40 was shared with the Mitsubishi Carisma. A Ford Focus is one thing, but a Mitsubishi?

So......not that many people? When you buy an R8, you buy it for the V10 howl, not its extended driving range.

You're in the market for a $100,000+ sports car?

The way I see it, the R8 and the Gallardo are supposed to occupy overlapping but distinct spheres. Seeing as they come from the same conglomerate. They're both supposed to be ridiculously awesome. They do that.

Those look nothing like the Acura "jewel-eyes" or whatever they're called.

If I have just one complaint about it, it's that it looks an awful lot like an Audi-fied version of the Giugaro X-GT Concept from Geneva earlier this year. They come from the same studio, so I doubt that's a coincidence.

That's 100 km/h.

The R8 is universally acclaimed as pretty damn awesome. Even Top Gear, who notoriously hates Audis, loves it. Let's face it, as cool as a V12 TDI would seem, who the hell shopping for a sports/supercar wants a diesel engine?

I really thought a Swiss guy would know better than to make something like this.

The Mazda 5 interior is massively terrible though.

It's because the steering is so massively plain it almost looks....Chinese.

They've already got length covered...

So it's sorta like a Mazda 5 - I think it would a good choice for a small young family, though I probably prefer the JSW. I wonder how the interior capacities compare.

I know that the Renault undercuts the BMW on price by 8k and that it's more rare, but you just can't ignore the Werke's cars from that era. They've got that Cold War Bavarian austerity charm - you can stroll up to one of the new F30s at a stoplight and say "bitch, I liked BMWs before they were cool" even though you

Ugh that U.S. bumper.....

UPDATE: It appears, on the outside at least, to be a Chinese JAC S5, though who knows why someone would import one into the US, let alone a manufacturer. Could something else be running under the body panels? For what it's worth, JAC describes the S5 as "extremely fashionable, powerful and energy-saving," so there's
