It looks essentially perfect from this angle. The fastback look reminds me of the Panamera wagon-thing.

um you missed the obvious contender in the cheap thrills department......#GT-86'd

Looks pretty bad. Then again the Lexus GX looks even worse.

You mean in Germany?

I second that motion.

That Volvo V50 just trollin' everyone with atypical douchery.

I saw an L.A. cab that was an S550. I guess that means Mercedes' suck.

#8 - it's telling that I looked at the Equus and first thought it was an S-Class. Keep it classy, Hyundai styling department. No need for originality here.

Three cheers for a 5-speed auto...

There don't seem to be any actual lamps in there though..

Let's just call it Ribbit.

Anything big put into a RWD Volvo wagon. Exhibit A - the famed LS1-V90 swap:

Major omission here...

Anddddd with that comment I think I win jerk of the year award. Kindly disregard. Colour me bitter.

Well the Chinese say "gweilo" etc....as I recall that means ghost or something if I'm not mistaken. So I hardly think calling them Chinamen is out of sorts. When the world eventually falls under their small-statured dominion maybe I'll call them something else.

The other one also looked much better in person, so it's still got a lot to compete with..

I miss the days when Mercedes' were amazing engineering efforts introducing new stuff....the W126 for example. They were just that until Lexus came along...THANKS JAPAN

Good catch it definitely shares a lot of design attributes with the Infiniti...yikes.

Ironic that Chinamen of all the people in the world need more space...but I still think it could have gained more size and retained its sleek looks. I don't know if it's safety regs or what, but the early 2000's full size luxury cars' conservative styling seems a lot better - think XJL, A8L, S-Class from around 2004.

The old QP may be a sedan, but its styling was sublime. It had smooth lines and it had visual presence on the road even while being simple. That's why it's classy. The new one especially loses out on the overwrought front fascia, but it's going with the new Mercedes/Hyundai school of design - ie, throw curves
