I am shocked you had such a bad time at Newark. Newark is flawed, but definitely not the worst in the area. It is actually probably the best of the three, JFK is the worst followed by a close second LaGuardia and then Newark. My top five of suck would be the following:

Market forces and Free will is not the cure to all evil. It has not stopped in the past abuses to the masses. Is the responsibility of those who want to live in a real free world via public communication and/or legislation that we could accomplish that.
