The question posed is “Nice Price or Crack Pipe for you?” not “Nice Price of Crack Pipe for someone desperately looking for exactly this sort of vehicle?” If someone WANTS and old Benz wagon then yes, this is going to be a nice price. If someone just wants a wagon, there are many better options as I’ve shown. Just

That was a search for wagons. If someone wants a 320 wagon then they’re looking at something like the one above. But if you just want a decent wagon, there’s a ton of perfectly serviceable ones out there that won’t cost you a fortune to keep running. Your definition of ‘better’ may be subjective, but if I’m looking

Yep, between underpowered and outdated engines, truly primitive safety systems and age-related unreliability, I have a hard time understanding why anyone wants any of these things. I can understand a certain amount of nostalgia or a particularly rare/desirable design may appeal to some, but in general almost

Counterpoint: rented one in Las Vegas to drive to LA. Aside from the AC struggling to keep up with July temps in Death Valley (can’t really blame it for that) everything else about the vehicle screamed ‘barely adequate.’ Nothing about the car, it’s design, amenities or builders gave a shit about anything. Which was

Autotrader found 262 wagons under $2700:

There’s a hell of a difference between a 250K Toyota and a 250K Benz. I note you still had to drop another $1K into the Tacoma and you were doing all your own work on a simpler vehicle with more readily available parts. I’d bet that you’d put up more up front to get the Benz into decent shape and that it won’t make

Thank you for making it so easy to label you as a troll. My mistake was thinking you were just stupid and attempting to educate you, but now I realize your sole purpose is to waste other people’s time online while you chortle over your cheeto-stained keyboard in your mother’s basement.

Are you still talking? Sheesh, learn how to read a room buddy...

Yes, meant to reply to wkiernan instead - sorry!

I don’t care how legendary the vehicle is or how luxurious it once was: $2.8K for 250K miles is way too much. Add in that this is a Benz and any repair you need to make is going to cost you about a grand minimum. So at the end of the day you get a wagon with a few known issues, a bunch more things that are about to go

I was just repelled by all the comments to the effect that “it’s her job to take shit from passengers, so she should either shut up and take it or fuck off

I understand why the attendant was upset, and she was working a sucky job and was in a sucky position. That still doesn’t excuse treating the passenger like she did.

It would also have been nice had my dear critics read the entire last paragraph of my post, where I didn’t approve but I did sympathize, but I guess close reading is too much to ask of the internet indignant, hmmf!

Wow, there’s just this general race to the bottom amongst the shithole states, isn’t there? Alabama, Missouri - who’s next?

Very nicely put. I wish I could star you more than once.

All of these things started well before our generation had much power. We didn’t fix them, but neither has any other generation.

Maybe you didn’t notice, but #NotAll(whatever) is NOT a positive hashtag. I notice your litany of positive boomer achievements ends at 1970 and refuses to take into account the decades of greed, Reaganomics and ruthlessly exploitative capitalism that the boomers have been responsible for ever since. How nice that you

There are always exceptions to generalizations. There are plenty of boomers who became hippies and stayed hippies. Some of them watcher their kids go full Alex P. Keaton in the 80's, but the rest held on to their somewhat liberal ideas. Unfortunately, the vast majority of their generation went hippy for the music and

Ok, so here’s an old, shitty Jeep that we spent a lot of money on to make it look (a tiny bit) like the giant billboard that advertises your douchbagginess known as the Hummer. In the end you get a heavier, more expensive Jeep AND the reputation of a frat-bro who thinks trucknutz are the height of wit and fashion. I

Yeah, and who was in charge of the government during the decline you described? Who voted for that government? Who voted for the government that stripped away all the regulations that were designed to prevent that decline?
