The difference with the VHS vs the movie rental is that VHS’s used to be expensive to manufacture and distribute. The price drops because it becomes more and more cheap to produce and distribute.

You could have your 2-3 months in a liquid emergency fund and another 3-4 months worth in an investment account (you choose the risk), as long as it’s mostly liquid. I do this with betterment. Sure I can’t get that 3-4 months money TODAY, but I really have 2-3 months to withdraw it.

Hahah there ya go! I tried getting help on some forums a few times and you’d be amazed at how many people would tell me the same thing except adding some ridiculously unrelated thing. “I answered a tweet and everything was fine, so just do that, it’s fixed!”

I did it from a trusted device and it kept saying “Invalid Credentials” even though I was logged in. Strangely enough it was also asking for about 5 things permission wise. I just went back and tried again and now it only asks for one thing permission wise and works immediately.

For what it’s worth, it does not seem to work if you have two factor enabled (which should be everyone). It doesn’t appear possible to set up a app specific password either.

I’ve never heard anyone talk about lossless compression wrt backing up. It’s not like you can only back up part of a file. I think I get what you’re asking now though. It doesn’t back up the whole file every time, but there is always a full copy of the file backed up.

The problem with them is remembering to upload the files. With Crashplan, you set it to your home directory and then anything added to your home directory tree gets backed up.
