@arod: I'm sorry I saw malice in your response then. I agree that a decade is a long time, I was just curious if he thought (as others I have talked to) that Apple has always used Unix as its base for their OSes. That's what I was trying to gather based on his "years" statement.

I think people are missing the point here in the comments. The point is not that they become immune to DUIs with these scooters (that is clearly false as everyone has pointed out). The real point is that when you get a DUI you lose your license, these allow you to get around without said license.

@katherine.mcginley: Which version of Ubuntu did you use? The newest versions of Ubuntu have become worse at working on antiquated hardware. Especially with such a small amount of ram. You might want to try an older version of Ubuntu if you're set on that, or try Xubuntu or EEEBuntu (or whatever it's called now).
