@digitmint: I didn't say that that's the only difference. I said it was the only main difference. The reason being that I hate Mint's menu and I actually use the one from Ubuntu when I use Mint.

@wtfnuggets: Not every musician is like Metallica. Some use music as their only means of making money. By stealing their work, they don't make money.

@monsterblues: What kind of files would those be (serious question, curiosity here)?

@battra92: And the horse gets higher. Sometimes you don't have time to go hit an ATM when you really need some money. That is why they invented debit/check cards.

@The world will know squalor.: While I agree that they do sign "artists" and they aren't very forward thinking, I have no problem with a Grooveshark app dying. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised or upset if the web app went down either. They are skirting a real fine line of legality, and many people upload files that

@vogonpoet: ya same with my methods, no converting or steams to grab. I'm talking two clicks of a mouse. The fact that it is, however, built into grooveshark, will probably lead to its inevitable downfall (either directly or indirectly as it will lose lots of music.)

@jizMondo: That may be why it was not included in this, then. Just a guess, but the others work on many platforms.

@Follower46: Ya I agree, however, as I am currently learning Perl and SQL for work, I don't want to throw in another language in my spare time.

@AmphetamineCrown: Ah I guess I mistook your statement, I retract my statement. I thought you took him less literally and responded to the question on the whole, not just the first part. My bad.

@theminimalist: Ya I actually saw that and the art of manliness today. Looks like I'll have plenty of reading material and hopefully some projects to be had in there.

I've been getting into a boring funk lately, doing the same things day in and day out. I recently went through a bunch of the DIY stuff on LH and it made me realize I should write up a bucket list of sorts. I have started writing one, but a lot of the stuff on my list is not currently attainable (especially the travel

@SystemMonitor: Google. Technically 1 TB is 1024 GB (as 1 GB is 1024 MB and 1 MB is 1024 KB). Wolfram says that because it sort of a shorthand for easy memorization.

@jazzytay: Ah ya I missed that. My car loan still has a little bit to go, so maybe that's why I have been having problems. I was not suggesting that I am an expert, just sharing my experience.

@3 Laws of Robotics: It seems Hasteur might be on to something with a little less swap. I wasn't sure if I was clear, a separate /home partition would be good, but I was thinking Windows and Mint might cause issues both using that as a home/my docs partition. what you could do is make a totally separate data partition

@Norbert Dan: I think they are pretty set on their prices so your only chance to lower the price would be to trade in your old stuff.

@DaeSu: Tax Free Weekend? huuuuuuuh? Sounds like the perfect time to make larger purchases...of course that's assuming it works as the name suggests.

@3 Laws of Robotics: Ya you want to mount the swap as swap. As for how much swap, I've heard either as much as you have ram, or double your ram. If you got the space double your ram is great, if not, it sounds like the same amount as ram should be good.

@jazzytay: This may not work. I have very limited credit as well, and my bank would not get me a credit card. I am not sure where to turn, so I guess keep plugging away. Just be aware nothing is a given.

@Firesphere: Really the main difference is that Mint installs all of the codecs for mp3s, movies, dvds, etc... when you install the OS, so you don't have to do anything to get that to work. Really there is not a whole lot different other than that.
