interesting...i haven’t seen any of those on rangers over here (west coast).  have seen factory mustang wheels, though.

on a side note, pretty sure those wheels are from the mazda twin. also, the chip key that they drilled a hole in when the end broke off, rather than replacing it, is a nice touch

i know you aren’t.  there’s a moto cop in socal somewhere (riverside, maybe) that posts helmet cam footage.  saw one where he was splitting lanes in rush hour gridlock, lights and all, on the way to an accident, and had a van try to squeeze/block him, and about shit themselves when he hit the siren.

hertz screwed me in enough little ways that i don’t rent from them anymore (last straw was waiting an hour and a half past the appointment for them to get a car ready, and being late for work as a result, only to find the car so low the fuel light was on). it’s slightly cheaper and slightly less convenient to do

That house makes the car look like a better buy, actually...

what if Miata still IS the answer?

fine, i’ll keep my coleslaw with raisins to myself.

agreed, and i kind of class the track they were trying to build under “it was already there”, since the air force base didn’t close all that long before they were trying to build the track..maybe 10 years at most. and even as it hasn’t been an active base, it’s an air museum, so they still have air traffic on the site.

They were also trying to build a track about an hour away...road course, drag strip, and dirt course, on the location of a former air force base...the residents kept it tied up in lawsuits and redoing environmental reports over noise and traffic and whatever else they could come up with till it sunk.

Yeah, it’s heading exactly that path with Sacramento raceway...was waaay south in the sticks, but the town grew south.

that, or have it torpedoed because one of the neighbors doesn’t want more car noise, and ties it up in lawsuits until it sinks.

*insert comment about the jeep wave*

i was going to say...kind of like the old ‘turning brakes’ on sandrails.

brought home a 32" tube tv in my beetle once. had the box strapped on the roof rack on the way home. dining room table and chairs also moved in the beetle one move, table on the roof rack, chairs in back. i also have a picture somewhere of my little pickup absolutely crammed with stuff, and then stuff piled on stuff

have road tripped a beetle, can confirm.

and it’s not like Acura didn’t sell a 4 door integra in the past...

naive? i know when i bought my pickup (now 15ish years ago) i didn’t have a TON of credit history, but what i had was solid...had my eye on one of those “10 at this price” base models, so i wasn’t too worried about it slipping away. talked numbers test drove it, and told them to let me sleep on it. hit my credit union

there’s a starbucks and a 7-11 that are permanent shit list for similar reasons.

one of the last times i rented from hertz (which...we also got the stripper Corolla, with an empty gas tank almost 2 hours AFTER our appointment time), they tried to foist a Prius on us in place of the ‘rolla.
