mine has been nearly all hassles in the time i’ve owned a mazda, to the point that the only time a dealer has seen it since the warranty ran out is for the airbag recalls.

There was a “Super Autobacs” store in Southern CA for a bit as well. i want to say it was early/mid 2000's; had to cheat and look at a map, because i remember it being on Beach Blvd, and it was, in Stanton,CA.

I can’t imagine the fit being that bad.

no, there’s still a few here that haven’t lost their way....i’ll tally another vote that thinks this is awesome.

never driven one, so i’ll take your word for it.  i’d probably still go with that if the only alternative is paying near double msrp for a kia, though.

my dining room table has moved on the roof rack of my beetle twice now, and one trip down the grapevine at what we’ll just call excessive speed with a folding chair and a bicycle on top, with no issues.

in either case...lots of options. lots of things have 7-8 seats now, both in the new and used realms. Honda Pilot (almost sure to outlast the kia anyway), tahoe, suburban (and the gmc twins), toyota sequoia. also minivans, wagons, actual vans..for well under that asking price.

being a kia dealer, they’re sure to make escaping as much of an ordeal as they possibly can.  maybe put off “talking about the trade until after the drive”, and then happen to “forget” your “keys” (some leftovers, preferably) on the desk as bait.

and then move the sign to another, and maybe add something about the dwindling supply.

anyone got a light?

or next to a racetrack and complain about the noise? oh...wait...that’s laguna seca.

“this is an egg...i mean...this is your brain...”

it wasn’t directly to me, but in the local moto dealer once, and another customer asking the salesman how the the-new mode switch on the GSX-R 1000 handled reducing power.  his response was that it cut spark to 1 or 2 of the cylinders, and it’d be bad to use it too much.

if dig into everything, it’s almost surely technically to add a catalytic convertor to my car that didn’t come with the factory with one, because it’d modifying emissions equipment with parts that aren’t CARB approved. it’d run cleaner, but that’s illegal if it doesn’t have the proper approvals.

Let’s be real, though. the same dealers did the same thing when the first Hellcats came out, and they did exactly the same thing when they rolled out the Challengers...instant $30k markup on the window sticker as “market adjustment”, simply because they were new.

that’s funny...walmart had no problem sending me back out in the rain on bald ass tires because they didn’t stock the factory size, and refused to put on a set of the ones they had in stock (which were the same size as the ones on the truck).

when i bought my truck some years ago, i did the test drive, then told them i wanted to sleep on it (it was one of those “5 at this price” anyway, so not a big miss...).

haven’t heard the latest monsters, but there was a very nice bass note to the recent ones...the triples are a symphony though.

people will realize how ugly that hot concept turned out to be (yeah, i’m overgeneralizing) when rendered in real world production-line terms, and lose all that excitement they had to get one?
