indirectly, the pandemic is part of it, as it played into so many crimes in CA effectively becoming “catch and release” for months; the article mentions one department arrested the same guy 3 times in one day, and i saw multiple other articles mentioning people being arrested more than once in a day, cited and

more of a follow the leader than a cabal, really....each figuring out it’s more profitable to sell them optioned, and convincing people that THAT is what they need is an easier sell. business writeoffs absolutely feed it too. i think the demand is a good sign that convincing has been successful, that people are

they found it more profitable to convince everyone they NEED $60k luxobarge trucks with leather, satellite radio and sunroof, rather than meeting actual needs.

It wasn’t bad size wise when they made the 2 door Tahoe/yukon, but it also wasn’t a 3 row SUV at that point. Imo, that was a great size (single cab short bed 1500 size), and with those huge doors, backseat access wasn’t awful. Plus V8 power, actual 4wd...

Ive been saying for a bit that Kia’s (and Hyundai’s too) worst enemy is their dealers. They still have lots of dealers with the attitude and games of a crappy brand ripping off people with poor credit for garbage cars, that only gets business because the cars are cheaper, and that’s one of their big obstacles to

i’ll add one more: capability. my current truck doesn’t have the space, either inside or outside, for what i want to do with it, nor the power to tow much, hence having an eye toward bigger.

i still have one, and that’s where mine is...folded up on end in the garage.

With coupons, the 4x8 harbor freight flatbed kit (with tilt) is under $300, rated for a little over 1200 lbs. Add some plywood, take a weekend to repack the bearings with decent grease, and build it, and you have a good little carrier. Little extra money gets a heavier rating. Registration is cheap, even in CA. Pair

stumbled across this on reddit today, speaking of ford quality.  long story short, gas filler and blocked DEF fill on a diesel truck.  became an expensive mistake when it sold and salesman went to fill it up...with gas.

the lady and i have both detested the theater experience for a long time, and have literally only gone to one movie since we started dating...”Machete Kills”. We went on a weekday morning (worked nights at the time), so admission was more reasonable, and not many people there.  haven’t felt anything was really worth

i remember seeing a police chase awhile back where the person running (in an expedition) loses control, hits the center wall and rolls, and came flying out the window like this. to their bad luck, they landed in the (active) traffic lanes on the opposite side and became a speed bump../

i knew this plot seemed familiar...

If you can past the get over the Kia badge dealer experience, there’s a genuine value-for-dollar proposition there.

Agreed. It’s a little high, imo, but not insanity, for a car thats probably in great shape. Would be glad to grab irlt, do the timing belt, and go enjoy it

It’s probable..i don’t have a second convenient hertz location to compare it to; it’s the corporate response that really did it though, that really was largely “that’s our policy, sorry you aren’t satisfied, here’s a coupon”.

at least here (central CA), hertz wasn’t drastically cheaper the last times i rented from them (compared to budget/avis), and their rental fleet was pretty crap. one visit it was “we can upgrade you to a prius instead of the corolla”, another it was a chevy cruze that looked like someone had been parking by braille

maybe i’m blasphemous, but i do use sharp cheddar for grilled cheese when that’s what we have (it’s always about what we have at the time, but we buy our cheddar in the 2 or 2.5 lb blocks at costco, and alternate between sharp and medium).  never used mayo, though, i’ve always used butter for grilled cheese.

you know, i WILL give it that one of those shitty caddy jacks saved my ass once, after the factory crank jack in my vw twisted itself into garbage and i got a flat, not yet having discovered that the HF bottle jack i had didn’t have enough lift range to get a tire off the ground.

100% agreed...the biggest obstacle to tracks besides liability is the neighbors.

the other big problem is one of the same reasons the number of accessible tracks is diminishing: nobody will accept this in their area, noise complaints, traffic complaints, etc.
