I’m sat here reading these responses with my jaw on the floor. I shouldn’t be so shocked, because we progressive WW hate to be reminded that we also flaunt our privilege daily - and we need calling out on it because we’re so often blind to it.

In the UK the conventional wisdom has always been to give people enough rope to hang themselves, which has worked in the past - one famous incident where BNP leader Nick Griffin came off as the racist idiot he is on Newsnight and it pretty much destroyed any political aspirations he had.

Thank you! It’s not so common any more, and it’s usually at the expense of the ‘dumb patriotic’ character on shows, but it has always really irked me that it’s used as kind of joke on TV; it’s like it’s trivialising the whole thing - and it was kind of a big deal.

This is the only time I will ever voluntarily listen to Phil Collins,

‘In the days after the election, any time I left the house I’d look around and think, “I don’t trust any of you motherfuckers” and now I feel a bit better about the community I live in.’

YESS!!!!

Hey, please don’t be ashamed to identify yourself as a Christian here! Awesome people are awesome, whether religious or not - the same can be said for terrible people though unfortunately; if someone’s a dick and justifies it because of their religion (or lack thereof), chances are they’d be a dick anyway!

Ok, so Kenneth Sherman is Eddie Jordan, right?

Babies wear whatever shit we put on them to wear. I, a grown ass woman wear whatever the fuck I feel like wearing.

Hey, there are many of us WTFing about this (and other global events that lead us to feel no one cares about their neighbours). We’ve got to stick together where we can!

These are super simple to knit, crochet or sew - they’re just one strip folded in half. I think them being so simple to make makes the project more inclusive.

Dude, I’ve found one - let’s do this...

I keep saying I want to learn to read cards, maybe this is my year.

You’re right, it does mean different things to different people, and it is in layman’s terms ‘someone who doesn’t eat meat’ covers it for the most part from a food point of view. But as far as the article is concerned, there is no ethical issue; there may be a taste, religious or other issue (personally it’s not

That’s fine, I also think meat is gross, full disclosure - I don’t identify myself as vegetarian or vegan either. You are and you do, that’s cool and I’m not judging, I’m going by the definition of the term.

I’ve heard this as a legitimate question before and I can’t see the debate - of course it’s vegetarian, vegan even. There are zero ethical issues to this.

The way I felt was that I needed to be allowed to feel that my heart was ripped out, I needed to feel full ownership of my grief.

Shit, I didn’t even consider that angle - I just assumed trolls and morbid curiosity. I hope this is wrong but suspect it could be true in some cases.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Whilst it’s still so raw I know that there are few, if any words of comfort.

Fuck... Fuck, Fuck, Fuck
