I don’t think there is a single topic or writer that half of the readers wouldn’t rip to shreds. I wonder why a writer would subject themselves to it. It certainly never turns out well.

To me, this just sounds like an eating disorder. I’m imagining the safety and control that she derives from eating this way. I think it’s more sad than pretentious because she’s raising a child in the dysfunctional relationship with food.
