I hope the book you ordered for the GRRM short story was that Legends II anthology.  I checked that out at the library for the Dunk and Egg tale, and it included short stories from Anne McCaffrey and Raymond Feist, a bonus for me since I was a young fan of their respective Pern and Riftwar novels.

I hope Boogie Nights will resonate for you as it has for me over the years.  It's so well done and endlessly rewatchable.

The best episode of the series after the pilot, season three's "Clear" (the return of Morgan from the pilot) had the great comedy bit of the Perpetually Running Hitchhiker.
