The visit to the Jaguar dealership reminded me of season 2's The Gold Violin, when Don goes to the Cadillac dealership trying to decide if he's "made it" and should get the Coupe de Ville.

Another reason I loved that speech is how all non-speaking actors in tonight's episode could be seen acting their ass off.  Ginsberg, Stan, even people we haven't heard from in half a season like Dawn and the secretary she replaced (the one that Don and Roger were sharing).

It reminded me of "Mystery Date" earlier this season when Momma Henry turns the tv off on Sally with a remote.  I did not know that remotes existed back then.  I remember still turning a dial to watch episodes of "CHiPs".

Agreed, although it would prevent us from seeing him scramble to explain his table-thumping.  I thought his attempts to salvage were admirable for quick thinking on his feet, like the line about morale.
