On Tom's Bravo blog, he was grouchy because he was hurting:

Chuy has been at or near the top for these first few episodes until tonight.  I think he may have the chops to remain King of the Hill until whenever the Last Chance Kitchen winner gets to come back into the competition.

I thought I heard some comment about "getting my lipstick on it" at the end of the cigar-serving segment?

When I saw the previews for this episode, I thought for sure it was going to be some cast members from that "Most Eligible: Dallas" show that I didn't watch.

Emily, we've been making fun of that Voltaggio commercial in the comments since the premiere:

I thought people became paladins just so they can heal themselves.

I heard that comment too.  Was she shipping the milk back home or something?  Why keep that in a fridge?

I spoke to Beverly's sister, who happens to run the San Diego Asian Film Foundation.  She says that Beverly had a new baby, still in the breast-feeding phase, when she got the call from Top Chef to get on a plane within 24 hours.  Apparently this batch of chefs weren't allowed to contact their families during the

Good on Ryan McGee for pointing out the John Williams scoring for that fight.  That music was pumpin'.

It is a really good movie.  Trying to describe it to friends at the time, I said it was kind of like a Chinese version of Heat.  Also, best hot cell phone action since the original Matrix.

"I HAVE THE CON!"
"NO, I HAVE THE CON!"

Oh man, Hainan Chicken&Rice is one of the dishes I want served if I were on Death Row.  I was introduced to it as a kid in L.A.'s Chinatown.  My mom was alternately pleased that I liked something new, and concerned that what I liked was so unhealthy for me.  I have yet to find a place where I live (San Diego) that

If you just got done partying with Koski, you wouldn't be able to move for three days, let alone get to Des Moines.

Great interview, good questions and I'm glad Bourdain was his usual open, revealing, and honest self.  For some reason my local Time Warner cable moved Travel Channel from my ghetto basic cable, so I can't catch No Reservations anymore.  The only Bourdain fixes I get are during his too-infrequent guest judge spots on

Just how quick must Glenn have been a few episodes ago.  So quick that possibly a zombie lying in the back wasn't disturbed.  No wonder Maggie was less than impressed.

They're southern, and they have no internet access.  I'll just chalk this one up to characters being ignorant and move on.

Not to mention just the danger of pregnancy for a woman that doesn't have all the modern conveniences of pre-natal care.  I'm sure the vet could help with some of that and all the bleeding, but there's no epidurals here.

For me, this week's episode was a bit of redemption from the sluggishness of the last few episodes.  Secrets tumbling out, confrontations happening, plot getting some forward momentum.  This inconsistent show registers an upward spike.

Does she give her rim a swab to find the DNA of those three teenagers?

Maybe she's a Voltaggio Brothers refrigerator, able to spit out recipes if you touch her in the right spots.
